Emergency Relief & Shelter Packs – Conflict-Affected Zones

In conflict-impacted communities across the South West Region of Cameroon, such as vulnerable rural settlements around Buea and Kumba, thousands of displaced families lack basic survival essentials after being forced from their homes. The "Emergency Relief & Shelter Packs" campaign by CRUDEF directly provides targeted rapid-response aid, including emergency tarpaulins, bedding, water purification tablets, and essential food rations. By investing $30,000.00 into this immediate humanitarian pipeline, we restore safety, dignity, and basic living conditions for 800 displaced households.

When sudden regional disruptions forced thirty-eight-year-old Joseph and his four children to flee their village near Kumba in the middle of the night, they left behind everything they owned, their farm, livestock, household goods, and clothes. Arriving in a temporary host settlement on the outskirts of Buea, the family found themselves sleeping on bare ground under open skies during heavy tropical rains. Without clean water, dry bedding, or cooking utensils, Joseph struggled daily just to keep his children warm, fed, and safe from disease.

Joseph’s story reflects the reality of thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) across the South West Region. Families fleeing conflict zones frequently arrive in host communities with zero resources, placing severe strain on local host households and leaving vulnerable children exposed to pneumonia, malaria, and severe malnutrition.

To meet these immediate survival needs, CRUDEF launched the Emergency Relief & Shelter Packs initiative, deploying rapid-response relief directly to high-need displacement hubs in Buea, Kumba, and surrounding rural corridors.

Through this campaign, CRUDEF distributes comprehensive Emergency Relief & Shelter Packs to 800 displaced families. Each pack includes durable weather-resistant tarpaulins, sleeping mats, thermal blankets, water purification supplies, personal hygiene kits, and high-nutrition staple food items (rice, oil, beans, and salt). Our field teams work directly with local community leaders to identify the most vulnerable households, particularly female-headed families, elderly individuals, and families with young children. By delivering rapid, dignified emergency aid, we alleviate immediate suffering, prevent severe disease outbreaks, and give displaced families the stability needed to begin rebuilding their lives.
