Women & Youth Enterprise Grants – West & South West Regions

Across the rural communities of the West and South West Regions, including Dschang, Kumba, and the outer districts of Buea, promising women entrepreneurs and ambitious young people lack access to traditional banking services and startup capital. The "Women & Youth Enterprise Grants" initiative by CRUDEF directly provides micro-equity grants, business management training, and local mentorship circles. By investing $50,000.00 into these emerging leaders, we establish 200 sustainable small businesses, boost household incomes, and foster economic independence across rural communities.

In a vibrant market town outside Dschang, thirty-two-year-old Florence operates a small soap-making initiative out of her kitchen. With high local demand for affordable hygiene products, her business has the clear potential to expand, supply surrounding villages, and hire local young women. However, without formal collateral, credit history, or bank access, Florence cannot secure even a modest loan to purchase commercial mixing equipment or buy ingredients in bulk. Like thousands of micro-entrepreneurs across the West and South West Regions, her business remains trapped at a subsistence level, limiting her ability to provide stable support for her family.

Systemic financial exclusion hits women and young adults hardest across rural Cameroon. Despite holding innovative business ideas in agriculture, local retail, tailoring, and food processing, bright individuals are routinely turned away by traditional financial institutions.

To unlock this untapped economic potential, CRUDEF established the Women & Youth Enterprise Grants initiative operating across high-need rural hubs in Dschang, Kumba, and Buea.

Through this campaign, CRUDEF awards direct seed-capital micro-grants to 200 vetted women- and youth-led micro-enterprises. Alongside financial capital, grant recipients complete practical business bootcamps covering financial literacy, record-keeping, product marketing, and inventory management. Furthermore, we connect each recipient with an established local business mentor for ongoing guidance. By converting business ideas into viable enterprises, we reduce youth unemployment, lift families out of poverty, and spark community-wide economic growth.
